History
of "Shankleesh" begins
in "Akkar" Lebanon.
The caza of Aakkar, is situated
to the extreme north end of the country where the villages
of Rahbeh, Beino and Quobeyat are found, is the second agricultural
plain of Lebanon in size and importance, after the Bekaa.
These
villages of Akkar are specialized in producing "Shankleesh ",
the kind of cheese fermented and manufactured starting from
cow's milk. |
